Ingredients

Brownies

  • 1/2 cup butter (melted)
  • 1 cup white sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 cup all purpose flour
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp baking powder

Frosting

  • 3 tbsp butter (melted)
  • 3 tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 tbsp honey (optional)
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1 cup confectioners sugar
  • 1/4 cup milk/cream (as needed)

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 F
  2. Grease and flour 8” square pan
  3. Combine melted butter, sugar, eggs, and vanilla and beat until well mixed.
  4. Add flour, cocoa, salt, and baking powder. Mix again.
  5. Spread into baking dish.
  6. Bake 25-30 minutes (until center is mostly done)
  7. Make Frosting:
    1. Combine butter, honey, vanilla, and cocoa. Mix well.
    2. Add confectioners’ sugar and beat with hand mixer if available (the longer you whip the fluffier the frosting). Add milk slowly (as needed) until frosting comes together.
  8. Remove from oven and frost immediately.


Notes

  • Frosting is optional.
  • Toss in some nuts or chocolate chips for fun!
  • Its best if you double this, but make sure to add about 10-12 minutes on to the cooking time.
