Ingredients

Filling

  • 10 cups peeled and sliced apples
  • 1 cup white sugar
  • 1 tbsp flour
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup water

Topping

  • 1 cup quick-cooking oats
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/4 tsp baking powder
  • 1/3 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 cup butter, melted

Directions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350F
  2. Prepare the filling
    1. Place the sliced apples in a large bowl
    2. Mix together all dry ingredients
    3. Pour dry filling ingredients over apples. Add the water and toss until everything is well coated
    4. Pour filling mixture into a large deep-sided baking dish (approx 13x9)
  3. Prepare the topping
    1. Combine all topping ingredients in a bowl
    2. Use a fork to combine until butter is evenly distributed
  4. Crumble the topping mixture over the filling as evenly as you can
  5. Bake at 350F for about 45 minutes until apples are tender.

Notes

  • I like to add in some raspberries to the filling for extra tasty.
