Ingredients
- 1 - cast iron skillet (probably could do it in a loaf pan but meh)
- 1/2 stick of butter (yes..)
- 1/2 cup white flour
- 1 1/2 cup masa
- 2 tsp baking powder
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 1/2 cups milk (see notes)
Directions
- Toss 2 tbsp of butter in the cast iron pan (put it in the oven) and turn on the oven to 425F
- mix all dry ingredients
- add softened butter (remaining 2 tbsp) & 2 eggs
- stir the crap out of it until it's all together
- add enough milk to make it look like brownie batter
- bake at 425F for 20 minutes - the edges will turn a nice brown and the center will get slightly golden looking
- let it cool for like 5-10m before eating.
(makes 8 decently sized wedges)
Notes
- Masa soaks up a LOT of liquid so you may end up having to add more milk than you think. It needs to be the consistency of brownie batter.
