Ingredients

Soft bread crumsb 3 cups 6 cups 9 cups
milk, scalded with butter 2 cups milk, 1/4 cup butter 4 cups milk, 1/2 cup butter 6 cups milk, 3/4 cup butter
sugar 1/2 cup 1 cup 1 1/2 cup
eggs, slightly beaten 2 eggs 4 eggs 6 eggs
salt 1/4 tsp 1/2 tsp 3/4 tsp
cinnamon or nutmeg 1 tsp 2 tsp 3 tsp
seedless raisins 1/2 cup 1 cup 1 1/2 cup

Directions

  1. Heat oven to 350F
  2. Place bread crumbs in 1 1/2 qt baking dish
  3. blend in remaining ingredients
  4. Place baking dish in a pan of hot water (1" deep)
  5. Bake 40-45m or until knife inserted 1" from the edge comes out clean

Serve warm with cream, 6-8 servings
